Where Tom Stands

  • Make billionaires and corporations pay their fair share. The rich are getting richer while the rest of us are getting left behind. Corporations pay less taxes than small businesses. Nurses are taxed more than billionaires. We need a tax code that puts earned income ahead of unearned wealth and allows all of us to save money for the future.

  • Every Montanan deserves the right to healthcare, the right to an education, and the right to raise a family without bankrupting themselves. We can be what we once were — a place that values good clean work, fair play, and equal opportunity. We can do this by passing legislation for paid family leave, universal childcare and pre-k, a living wage, and healthcare for all.

  • Climate change is an existential threat - and climate action is a dire necessity. A rapidly changing climate threatens everything we love - our forests, our streams, our jobs, our towns, our homes, our families. We could lose it all. That’s why we need a leader who will fight for clean air and water as enshrined in our state constitution. Tom will fight for economic justice action like a new Civilian Climate Corps.

  • Political corruption in our institutions is endangering our futures. Montana led the nation in getting money out of politics. But big corporations and the wealthy elites are now poisoning our system. Our parents and grandparents knew that Montana’s democracy couldn't be bought - and Tom will protect their legacy of free and fair elections for the future.

  • We must pass the PRO Act. Montana used to lead the nation in worker protections, because we were built by workers. We can lead again. Tom is a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW Local 206) and he will be right there with working Montanans to strengthen workers’ rights and help build back up organized labor.

  • Outcomes over Ideology. The point of politics is to make your life better and your community stronger. If a policy or bill doesn't do that, Tom won’t support it.
