HJ 55 | Study to Make Rural Healthcare Less Expensive

Critical access hospitals are the lifeblood of Montana’s rural communities.  This bill studied best practices to increase their stability and enhance their patient care.

  • Investigate:

    • ways to ensure the viability of critical access hospitals,

    • ways to improve care and delivery in rural and frontier settings throughout the state

    • other innovations in use in Montana communities and other states

    • and the potential impact that changes in the methods for delivering or paying for health care services in publicly funded programs could have on rural health care delivery and the stability of critical access hospitals.
