HB 503 protects Montanans from scam “junk” insurance plans that prey on the people that need healthcare the most. Auditor Rosendale’s office worked directly against this commonsense legislation.
An issuer of short-term, limited-duration (“junk”) insurance plan shall accept every individual who applies for coverage and may not deny coverage because of pre-existing medical conditions.
Insurers must prominently disclose notice of what the policy does and does not cover and acknowledge that it does not provide “minimum essential coverage” for health insurance.
